73 year old woman killed in Hummingbird knockdown
A seventy-three year old woman is dead after being knocked down on the Hummingbird Highway Tuesday morning. Police say they continue to investigate which vehicle might have been responsible for the death of Gumercinda Aldana of St. Margaret’s Village. They have questioned a bus driver from Unitedville, whose school bus was seen in the area around the time the injured woman was discovered on the road just before nine a.m. the driver has acknowledged that he was on the road at that time but said he only became aware of the incident when the principal of Hummingbird Primary School stopped him and told him about the tragedy. Aldana died two hours later while receiving treatment at the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan.
