Two plead guilty to city burglary
The wheels of the judicial system often turn slowly but swift justice has been handed down to two burglars who broke into a Belize City home on Sunday morning. According to court reports, fifty-one year old Eneyda Perera left her house at mile two and a half at about five past nine but fifteen minutes later she returned to discover that a thief or thieves had kicked in the front door and stolen a licensed nine millimeter handgun and a digital camera. Sensing that the perpetrators weren’t far, Perera decided to cruise the neighborhood and on Faber’s Road extension came upon two men who looked suspicious. She decided to follow them and called the police from her cell phone. When the cops arrived, the duo was still walking in front of Perera’s car. A search turned up the missing items and both men were immediately arrested and charged with Burglary. When twenty-two year old Michael Young and twenty-four year old Armando Davis appeared in court this morning, they pleaded guilty and were each sentenced to five years behind bars.
