Rotary raffle aids “Gift of Life”
On February sixth the Rotary Club held the first of its semi-annual heart clinics in which over a hundred Belizean children were examined by visiting doctors. The money to send those young patients for medical care abroad is collected through a number of fundraising activities. This morning one such effort climaxed when a winner was selected in the 2008 Isuzu D-max raffle. The draw was held live on Love FM’s morning show. Selecting the lucky ballot from amongst the thousand tickets sold was five year old Oscar Malic, a beneficiary of the Rotary Gift of Life Programme.

“You can take one. Turn around and give it to me. Okay.”
“The winner of the 2008 next generation Isuzu D-max, raffled by the Rotary Gift of Life is Charlotte Osborne of 901 Bella Vista.”
“We want to thank Charlotte Osborne for her contribution and everyone who participated in this raffle for their contribution to the Gift of Life.”
Charlotte is the daughter of attorney Phillip Osborne, who bought four tickets and put one of them in her name. She is a student at Belize Elementary and, at twelve years old, is unfortunately under the legal driving age. The D-Max is valued at seventy thousand dollars. Rotary would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of the raffle.
