Suspect remanded in Mahogany Heights robbery
Eighteen year old Kenroy Parham, one of two masked men who allegedly stole fifty dollars from Allison Hemsley, a security guard of Mahogany Heights, was charged with Robbery and Harm when he appeared today in Magistrates’ Court. Magistrate Dorothy Flowers could not offer Parham bail because the robbery was committed with a firearm and she remanded him into custody until March thirteenth. Hemsley reported to police that at about nine-thirty on the night of February second, he was at the home of a friend in Mahogany Heights watching television when he heard a knock on the front door. Hemsley said when he opened it two masked men entered, one armed with a sawed off shot gun and the other with a knife. Hemsley said the gunman demanded money and when he refused he was hit in his face with the gun. He then gave his assailants fifty dollars and they left. Hemsley told police that he recognized Parham and Gibson by their body structure and that was what led to Parham’s arrest. Police say they are searching for another suspect, twenty year old Shawn Gibson.
