Suspects charged for robbery at Buca Shell Gas Station
Buca Shell Gas Station at Miles two and a half on the Northern Highway was jacked on Wednesday. The culprits were captured on surveillance camera and were soon busted in a green Ford escort with the stolen cash. They were taken to court this morning and two of the four pleaded guilty to Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. The four accused include a sixteen year old minor of a Southside High School and thirty year old Newton Neal, a Mechanic of the Fresh Pond area in Burrell Boom; along with twenty-three old Lionel Sampson, a fisherman and twenty-four year old Paul Usher, also a Fisherman of Ontario Village, Cayo District. They appeared before Magistrate Sharon Frazer where Neal and the minor were charged jointly with the robbery of one hundred ninety three dollars from Marco Miranda, a cashier at Buca Shell. Miranda told police that two men entered the store; one pointed a hand gun at him and demanded that he handed over all the cash. The second grabbed the money in the cash drawer and both exited the store. The men were seen entering the getaway vehicle and this was reported to the cops by an eye witness. Police set chase and they were caught at the corner of Meighan and St. Thomas Streets. In court, Neal and the minor claimed Sampson and Usher had nothing to do with the robbery. Neal said that he was sorry and did not know why he robbed the gas station. Neal was sentenced to five years while the minor got a non-custodial sentence and was fined three thousand dollars. The other two suspects will reappear in court on October twentieth.
