Carnival Road March will be a part of September Celebrations
If you enjoy the flamboyant feathers of birds but have no desire to venture into forests, then there is still an event for you. The glitz, colors and sequins of Carnival is truly emerging on the horizon. At the end of May, the fate of this year’s carnival road march was in limbo; several mas bands face the usual financial troubles and to compound the problem, there were conflicts over dates. No carnival would also mean no king and queen competition or Jouvert; three of most anticipated events in the September celebrations. But revelers will be happy to know that the Belize National Celebrations Commission and The Carnival Bands’ Leaders met on Tuesday and decided that the Carnival King & Queen competition will be held on August twenty-seventh while the Jouvert, Carnival Road March and Carnival Fete are scheduled for September third.
