Forgers goes to jail
Also in court, twenty-one year old Eugene Myers and thirty-seven year old Anthony Singh were charged with Forgery, Theft and Claiming upon a Forged Document. The complainant is Myers’ neighbor, nineteen year old Tiffany Thomas, who claims that her credit union book went missing on May twenty-fourth while Myers was at her house.
The men allegedly forged her signature on a withdrawal slip and stole nine hundred and fifty dollars from Thomas’ Holy Redeemer Credit Union Account. She also claims that another three hundred and twenty dollars were taken from her account, but the men have not been charged for the withdrawal. Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb McKenzie granted the men bail of three thousand dollars, but only Singh was able to pay and Myers was remanded. The case has been adjourned until August tenth.
