Bullet shatters window of P.U.P. bus
Both political parties have pledged to maintain peace during the electioneering but tonight there are reports that on Sunday night political motives were behind a shooting in Cayo. According to thirty-one year old Mateo Chuc, around six last night he and other residents of Toledo were heading home after participating in a People’s United Party rally in San Ignacio. But as their bus slowed down to cross a speed bump in Esperanza, Chuc says he heard a gunshot and was shocked to see that a bullet had shattered a rear window. Police were summoned to the scene but no one was detained in connection with the incident.
