Embassies join Belize in celebrating month of independence

Story PictureIt is the independence of the Mesoamerican countries…and for the second consecutive year, the embassies of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Mexico have once again joined Belize to celebrate their Independence Day in collaboration with G.O.B. The event will be held on Saturday, September twelfth, at the Governor General’s field in the capital and includes an artistic festival and concert. The festival will feature the joy and solidarity of the countries through popular and traditional performances from the Belize National Dance Company, the Folkloric Dance Group from Guatemala, among other entertainment from regional artists. The program will sign off with a bang as fireworks will light the night sky. The event starts at four p.m. Entrance is free.
