Two nineteen year olds charged in city shooting…
Two Belize City teenagers have been arrested and charged with Attempted Murder in connection to a shooting that occurred last week. According to court reports, twenty year old Ready Call employee Roy Bennett was visiting a friend on Jane Usher Boulevard when a masked man walked into the yard and fired four shots through the open front door. Three bullets hit Bennett: one in the hand, a second to the leg and a third to the buttocks. The injured man was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where doctors classified his wounds as Grievous Harm. Police investigations into the shooting have led to the arrest of nineteen year olds Dain Canto and Keon Swasey. The accused appeared before Magistrate Roberto Ordonez today where they were formally charged with Attempted Murder, Grievous Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. As the matter involves an indictable offence, the duo has been remanded to Hattieville Prison until February twenty-seventh.
