Prisoner shot escaping Hattieville is D.O.A. at hospital
Details are still hard to come by but reports are that around eight this morning an inmate was fatally shot by a guard at Hattieville Prison. According to a press release issued by the police, officers were called out to the facility where they were informed that thirty year old Freddy Harris, on remand for Dangerous Harm, escaped from custody. The guards have maintained to those officers that they had no choice but to shoot the fleeing prisoner. Two bullets hit Harris, both in the buttocks and the bleeding man was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. However, doctors there pronounced the prisoner dead on arrival. Attempts to contact prison officials today for more information about the incident proved futile.

“That matter, likewise, is being investigated by the police. The file, at the conclusion of the investigation, will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions and he will give his final decision on that investigation.”
A post mortem investigation has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of Harris’ death.
