Muggers, burglar busted in P.G.
Separate incidents in Punta Gorda on Sunday have resulted in the detention of four people. In the first case, around four that afternoon investigators were tipped off that there was a burglary in progress at the Wildlife Conservation Society on Black Orchid Street. The cops dispatched to the scene immediately noticed that a window had been tampered with and set about searching the building. The officers found their suspect hiding in a bathroom and immediately arrested him. Twenty-five year old Neron Coleman of Hopeville has since been charged with Burglary.
Fifteen minutes later, PG police were called out to Main Street after two tourists reported being mugged. According to visiting French students, Francois Berthane and Jessica Luft, three men walked up to them and forcibly took their cash, credit and social security cards along with other personal items. A search of the area resulted in the arrest of three people, including a minor. Police have since arrested and charged the teenager, along with Pedro Chiquin and Kevin Cob, both of Indianville. They will be formally charge on Wednesday. It was discovered that Chiquin has an outstanding drug possession warrant to be sent directly to Hattieville following his court date.
