Second suspect arrested in gas company hold-up
A second suspect wanted in connection with the armed hold-up of Tomza Gas has been arrested and charged. This morning twenty-three year old Albert Clother was arraigned in Magistrate’s Court on three counts of Robbery and three counts of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. Clother pled not guilty and was remanded to Hattieville prison until January twenty-fifth. The incident occurred on December twenty-eighth at the offices of Tomza Gas at mile four and a half on the Northern Highway. According to cashier Mirna Perez, around two-fifty that day two men, one of whom was armed with a gun, entered through the back door. Perez told police that the men ordered her, another employee, and a customer to lie face down on the floor after which they stole almost four thousand dollars in cash from the company and jewellery and a cell phone from the victims. While police picked up Clother yesterday, his alleged accomplice, twenty-two year old Karl Heusner, appeared in court on Monday where he was charged with the same offences and remanded into custody.
