Corozal woman reports abduction, rape

A Corozal woman is traumatized tonight after she was kidnapped, punched, raped and left stranded on the roadside. The twenty two year old housewife reported to police that sometime around six thirty yesterday evening she was walking on the Santa Rita Road when a green car with tinted windows pulled up. The woman said three men she had never seen before forced her inside the vehicle then drove her to another location where the attackers reportedly tied her up and gagged her. The victim said she struggled with the men, but one of them punched her in the stomach. Then one of the three men had sexual intercourse with her against her will. Thereafter, the woman says the men drove her to a spot near Tony’s Inn at the entrance to Corozal Town where they left her on the roadside. Police thus far have no leads on the perpetrators and their investigations continue.
