City shooting appears to be revenge
The homicide count for 2007 was almost raised by one when shots rang out in Belize City just before the year expired. Fortunately, twenty-one year old Marlon Foreman survived the gunshots. The incident occurred as Foreman was riding a bicycle on Iguana Street around eleven forty-five on Monday night. His mother, Geraldine Usher, says she believes her son was targeted following a previous shooting in which, despite claiming an alibi, he was accused of being the triggerman.

Usher says that her son’s decision to fight and then run saved him from being shot in the head. However, it was while fleeing that he took bullets in the left side of the abdomen and right leg. Foreman is now in stable condition at the K.H.M.H. and police say they have detained the suspected gunman pending charges.
