No arrests made in Corozal teen’s stabbing death
A homicide over the weekend in Corozal town has left cops with more questions than answers. According to investigating officers, around eight on Sunday morning, they were called out to a home on 9th Street where they found the lifeless body of its nineteen year old tenant, Keddy Ramirez, lying face up on the floor of his bathroom. There was no blood, but officers immediately noticed two stab wounds: one in the middle of the chest and a second near the collarbone, on the victim’s body. Ramirez was rushed to the Corozal Hospital but doctors there pronounced the teenager dead on arrival. A post mortem examination has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death. Ramirez was last seen alive by his roommate when she left for work around eight on Saturday night. We understand that there was no sign of forced entry and because Ramirez was found wearing shorts and a t-shirt, investigators believe the victim was killed by someone he trusted. The deceased is originally from Guinea Grass Village and at the time of his death, was an employee of the Princess casino in the Corozal Free Zone. Cops have spent the last two days questioning a number of people and following up several leads but up to news time no arrests had been made in connection to the incident. If you can assist authorities in bringing the killer to justice, please contact the nearest police station or Crimestoppers.
