Ladyville resident wins over one hundred thousand dollars

She won Saturday’s hundred and thirty-two thousand five hundred dollar Lotto draw with the numbers 01, 02, 05, 16, and 17. Fifty four year old Brenda Erlene Sanchez has two children and four grandchildren. She has been having difficulties travelling with her family because for almost a year, she has been bound to a wheel chair. News 5 spoke to the lotto winner today who says she will use the money to get back on her feet.

“And what are you going to do with the money you won?”

“Well, I wahn see bout mi foot cause I really wahn walk again. And without mi foot and mi medication and doctor bill, well I class as hypertension and sugar. So, I have to try relax myself cause when I hear bout it this morning when they tell me, I mi shock.”

“So you use it to get back on your foot and you plan to treat yourself to anything?”

“Maybe repair the house afterwards, but I no sure dah how much money. Dat da the truth cause then I noh really up to that. I like pray and ask god fi help mi.”

“So, you know you wahn get a lot ah new friends now, right?”

Brenda Erlene Sanchez
“So they tell me—who I noh even know wahn come look for me. So I she, hmm, everybody wahn come look for mi now. And my granddaughter seh I wahn be celebrity eena mi old days.”

“You have all the cameras on you now.”

Brenda Erlene Sanchez
“Dah so I di notice.”

After government takes out its share in taxes, Sanchez takes home one hundred and twelve thousand, six hundred and twenty-five dollars.
