Convicted burglar gets extra year for hiding identity
A man sentenced to two years in prison for burglary, has been given an extra year behind bars for lying to the magistrate about his name. When appearing before Magistrate Roberto Ordonez this morning the defendant, who stole two crates of empty pints and was apprehended by their owner, gave his name as Chester Miller. After pronouncing a sentence of two years, Ordonez was informed by an observer that Miller’s real first name was Glen, not Chester. When Miller was confronted with that suspicion, he admitted that he was in fact Glen. It was then discovered that Glen had been convicted on two previous occasions. He was then given the extra year in jail which will run consecutively on top of his original sentence.
