Third suspect arrested in Santana home invasion

A third suspect has been arrested and charged in the home invasion that occurred in Santana Village earlier this month. Twenty-three year old Hubert “Kid” Velasquez was picked up by police on Friday in Ladyville and was today charged with Aggravated Burglary and Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Burglary. He was remanded to Hattieville prison until January seventeenth. He joins his two alleged accomplices, twenty-eight year old Delbert Hinds and seventeen year old Ryan Neal, who were similarly charged last week. The incident in question occurred in the early hours of December eighth at the house of twenty-four year old Monica Mendez. Mendez told police that she was home with her two children when three men barged in demanding money. They tied her up and beat her before stealing close to fifteen hundred dollars, jewellery and a shotgun.
