Suspect arrested in Dangriga stabbing

A sixteen year old boy lies critically wounded in the Southern Regional Hospital tonight after he was attacked with a knife. Police say twenty-three year old George Higinio of the Lakeland Area in Dangriga approached the youth, Kenrick Martinez, and stabbed him in the right side of his chest. Martinez was reportedly with friends watching television at a house in the same area around eight on Monday night when the suspect arrived and attacked him. Police say they are conducting further investigations to determine if the two had had a previous conflict. However they do report that Higinio appeared to have been under the influence of either alcohol or drugs. He has been charged with Attempted Murder, Dangerous Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm.
