Three more arrested for cheque scam

Three more people, including two brothers, have been arrested and charged by police in connection with the use of forged government cheques. Twenty-five year old Kenton Serrano is detained in Dangriga along with his common-law wife, twenty-four year old Marion Lucas. The couple have been charged with Handling Stolen Property, namely a laptop computer that was purchased with a bogus cheque. Serrano works at the Southern Regional Hospital. In Belize City, twenty-six year old Leslie Serrano faces charges of Obtaining Property by Deception. He is an employee of the Labour Department in Dangriga. Previously charged with a long list of fraud related charges was twenty-nine year old Dangriga resident, Lino Herrera.
