Good Evening, I’m James Adderley and this Sports Monday. Week eleven of the RFG Tournament brought the Belize City derby to the M.C.C. Grounds as F.C. Belize clashed with the Belize Defense Force in a bid to move closer to the top of the standing in the league.
F.C. Belize looks to strike first off their set piece that sees Jeremy James header rise over the crossbar.
It’s more F.C. Belize when Mark “Kello” Leslie fires at Charlie Slusher who come sup with the save.
At the other end Deon McCauley beats the wall but not the keeper off this good looking spot kick.
A few minutes later, Deon McCauley gets a second chance and this time the striker finds the target with precision as the B.D.F. goes up 1-zip at the forty-third minute.
This gets F.C. Belize going and they almost come up with the equalizer before the half expires when Jerome James fires this right foot that crashes against the cross bar.
Eight minutes after intermission this set piece leads to a shot attempt by Tyrone Muschamp that bounces off Jerome James into the goal and we’ve got a tied ball game.
On this press Jerome gets this good look at goal but fails to impress the scoreboard in a one on one situation with Charlie Slusher.
But it’s F.C. Belize in the ascendancy in second half and Germaine Zuniga must tell us what happened right here.
Now that we’re asking questions we just have to make an appointment with Nigel Cayetano who squanders this good looking opportunity for the military.
At the other end, Germaine Zuniga gets this look at goal but his touch veers outside the upright.
Folks we’re eighty-eight minutes in when Mark Leslie sets table for a stealing Germaine Zuniga who wins the match for F.C. Belize in the 2-1 final.

And it’s off to the races for E.P. Yorke as Andrew Estelle makes the steal and goes glass for the first two points of the match.
Oliver Solis replies for Wesley with the three pointer from the top of the key.
It’s Estelle again for E.P. Yorke, he gets his own miss shot to sink the put back.
Now meet Winston Pratt of E.P. Yorke as he collects the loose ball to easily score two of his game high 30 points.
So Wesley goes to Stephen Smith for three who could have given them four but missed the freebie off the foul.
Down by six Winston Pratt goes for three and guess what, he gets it.
Pratt then outruns the Wesley defense to mash it home for two and at the half E.P. Yorke is, nevertheless, down by five.
In second half, Gershon Rodriguez strikes for two of his team high 14 points off his nice pass.
It’s more Rodriguez when he gets fed by Hansel Arnold and Wesley is in control of the ballgame.
