Cabinet approves improvements in Carl Ramos Stadium
Last week we reported on the strong possibility that, due to the poor condition of the country’s football stadiums, Belize would be forced to play both its 2008 World Cup qualifying matches abroad. It was noted that the Football Federation of Belize would be speaking to government on the issue and yesterday evening Press Office Chief Nuri Muhammed confirmed that Cabinet has decided to take action.

“Cabinet decide yesterday that in due of the fact that the world Cup eliminations will be taking place in Belize that investments will be put into the Carl Ramos Stadium. As you know Belize will be playing elimination games with St. Kitts and we want to make sure that the stadium is in the best of shape.”
