Cops arrest two high profile suspects
Police have announced arrests in two recent major crimes. Thirty-five year old Guatemalan Alejandro Hernandez has been charged with Murder in the death of Clementine Enriquez Jr. of St. Margaret’s Village on the Hummingbird Highway. According to police, Enriquez was asleep early Monday morning following a night of socializing when Hernandez dropped a large stone on his head. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Western Regional Hospital.
Meanwhile, in Belize City, a second suspect has been arrested in a carjacking that occurred last weekend. Twenty year old Leon Garcia has been charged with the Robbery and Wounding of taxi driver Glenford Morgan. On Saturday night a group of five men entered Morgan’s van, robbed him at gunpoint, beat him and stole his vehicle. After police intercepted the van and its occupants fled, they managed to catch the driver, nineteen year old Burly Card, who was charged with the same crimes as Garcia, plus Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition.
