Accused gang member/murderer goes free

Twenty-four year old Andrew Carrillo, an alleged member of the violent Central American gang MS-13, one of two men charged with Murder and Arson, was freed of the charges today in the court of Justice Troadio Gonzalez when Crown Counsel Nigel Ebanks entered a motion of nolle prosequi. The charges still stand, however, against the second suspect, twenty-one year old Alex Bautista. The nolle prosequi was entered due to insufficient evidence. Carillo was represented in court by attorney Simeon Sampson while attorney Carlo Mason represented Bautista. Carillo and Bautista were charged with the murder of Honduran national Gerson Javier Hernandez, twenty five, who was fatally stabbed inside an apartment building at number two Victoria Street on October nineteenth, 2006. They were charged with Arson for allegedly setting the apartment building on fire. It is believed by police that Hernandez was stabbed in the bathroom and his body was dragged into the living room where it was found burned to a crisp. The police believe that revenge was the motive for the murder.
