Volunteer soldier is $110,000 Lotto winner

Story PictureHe is a volunteer soldier, mechanic, father, and husband. But two weeks ago Gonzalo Lizama added Lotto winner to his many titles. The thirty-seven year old resident of Hope Creek won the November tenth, one hundred and ten thousand dollar draw and today Lizama, his common-law wife and their four children finally made it to the Tropical Gaming office in Belize City to collect their cheque.

“The Sunday when we discovered this I went speechless, I wanted to tell my common-law something and it just never come outta me, you know like. I want say something and everybody was so excited.”

“I went to hug my dad and after that my dad tell us to pray and all of us prayed. Everyone was so excited.”

“Why did you wait so long to claim your lotto prize?”

Gonzalo Lizama
“I was doing a course with members of the regular force element in the B.D.F. and it was a very interesting course, so I wanted this course to be over and come and claim this prize and also, I had to wait for the nineteenth celebration. I never really want be there for the nineteenth celebration. I have too many friends, too many friends that would have asked me for a cold one, so I had to wait till this nineteenth over.”

“The main thing that I have pan my list dah wah computer because that every important fi help me with my education.”

After government deducts its fifteen percent, Lizama took home ninety-three thousand five hundred dollars. In addition to buying the kids a computer, Lizama plans to marry his common-law wife of fifteen years.
