One dead, two injured in welding explosion
Meanwhile, two young children from the Orange Walk district continue to recover from injuries they sustained in a freak accident that claimed the life of their father. According to police, around one on Friday afternoon, thirty-eight year old Shipyard resident Abram Enns was welding an oil tank when a massive explosion occurred. The blast fatally wounded Enns and caused severe burns to his sons, six-year-old Jacob and four-year-old Abram Junior. The boys are admitted to the Northern Medical Plaza in Orange Walk town in stable condition. A post-mortem on Abram Enns has determined cause of death to be head trauma. It is believed that residual oil on the tank was ignited by Enns’ blow torch.
