Gas station manager wounded in hold-up attempt
The manager of a Belize City gas station was wounded in a robbery attempt on Saturday morning. Cops were called out to the Buca Shell Service Station at mile two and a half on the Northern Highway where they found thirty-three year old Herbert Parham lying on the floor outside the back door of his office. Parham had been shot in the right leg and right palm by a man who accosted him as he opened for business. Parham told police that he arrived for work at around six-forty a.m. and after opening the pumps, he was heading back towards the office when a slim-built man armed with gun and with a red rag over his face walked up to him. As Parham tried to lock the door, the gunman fired several shots. Ironically, the assailant fled without taking anything. Police so far have no suspects. Parham was discharged from the K.H.M.H. this morning.
