Courts Belize gives 5 more scholarships
Courts Belize, the giant furniture store has added five more students to its annual scholarship program. For fourteen years, Courts has been awarding bright students from across the country with the opportunity to go to a high school of their choice. News Five spoke with Marketing Officer, Rochelle Tucker, who says that today’s recipients are deserving of the award.

“Their main focus was trying to do well on their P.S.E, which we definitely saw in their grades, which is something we are all so excited about and as you will see from the reports that we will get from them that they will definitely do a good job of it.”

“So what does scholarship includes?”

“The scholarship is a full scholarship that includes book and it pays for their tuition as well. So we contact the school and make those payments for the students that have been chosen.”

“Tell us what does this scholarship mean for you and your family?”

“Well it means a lot because it can help a long way for me. As a parent who doesn’t have a permanent job, it goes a long way for me right.”

“It is a great help and any financial assistance is great help with the economic difficulties at time. And also it motivates the children knowing that nothing is free but they have to work for it and have good grades and they have to study a lot.”

“So are you excited about starting high school? Tell us where you be going this year?”

“I will be going to Independence High School in Independence.”

Nidia Panti of San Ignacio received the 2011-2012 Sixth Form Scholarship
