Belize City businessman injured in armed robbery
Meanwhile, investigations also continue into an armed robbery earlier this week that left a Belize City businessman hospitalized. According to forty-seven year old Jian Zhi Huang, he was at his game shop Kent Market at the corner of Water Lane and West Street when two male customers entered the establishment. But after playing a few games, Jian says the patrons held him up with a gun and demanded money. At the same time, two other men burst in and after closing the windows and doors, viciously beat the proprietor with firearms. The assailants then made off with ten thousand dollars in cash and Jian’s licensed nine millimetre handgun. While one man has been detained for questioning, up to news time tonight, no arrests had been made in connection to the incident. The businessman remains in the K.H.M.H. recovering from the injuries sustained during the robbery.
