“I di do this simply because we have access to the studio like we neva had before so that put you inna wah unique position that if something happen tomorrow you could go inna the studio tonight and write bout it like weh deh do da Trinidad and inna the Caribbean, you see how deh write songs immediately after, we dah Belize could do that now. I just di do it fi nineteenth but if something happen day after tomorrow I could hurry write wah song bout that and this da part of the musician job fu write bout things right; things fi mek di people deh hear, mek deh laugh, mek deh cry…dat da fu we job.”
“More than all, dah the unification of the people, more than all because I’m not sure if we had a Belizean musician weh referred to as a Creole weh write wah song bout nineteenth before. I’m not sure, but if they are, then da noh too many. So again, I just di do my little part as a Belizean musician.”
According to Obi, his nineteenth song is part of a larger album “Stay Focus” which should be released by the end of the year.
