Belize City man accused of bus armed robbery

Meanwhile, authorities have also made an arrest in connection to the armed robbery of a bus driver. The accused is Ricky Valencia of Queen Charlotte Street. According to Belize City police, Valencia was one of two men who assaulted fifty-five year old Seaford Dawson, who works for James Bus Line, around eight-forty on Monday night, he was letting off passengers at the Pound Yard Bridge when two dark complexioned men entered the bus, pulled out a black handgun and demanded money. But before Dawson could respond, one assailant hit him in the face with the firearm while his accomplice grabbed a bag containing the proceeds from the day’s ticket sales. The second suspect in the case has yet to be detained.
