Burglar caught red-handed in Corozal store

A Corozal man is behind bars tonight after he was busted burglarizing a local business. According to police, around five on Thursday morning, neighbours of Patty’s Bistro on Fourth Avenue reported that a man had been spotted breaking into the eatery. When cops arrived at the scene, they found that someone had broken the lock of a main door and put a number of items into a crocus sack. That “someone” was nowhere in sight…but then came a sound from the ceiling. Apparently, the thief was just about to make his getaway when the owners showed up with the police. Having nowhere to run, the burglar hoisted himself into the ceiling through a trap door. He was brought down and identified as forty-nine year old Mark Anthony Whitticker. Whitticker has since been charged with Burglary.
