… While Felix brothers sentenced to life

Meanwhile, two brothers who were found guilty of Murder earlier this month have been given life sentences. According to court reports, this morning Justice Adolph Lucas ordered that twenty-three year old Maurice Felix and twenty-one year old Emory Felix be jailed for life for the murder of Belize City mechanic Mitchum Heredia. In April 2006, the victim was gunned down by two armed assailants. During the four-day trial, both men took the stand in their defence to maintain their innocence. In connection to injuries sustained by another man during the same shooting, Maurice Felix was additionally sentenced to fifteen years for Attempted Murder, which will be served concurrently. Both men will become eligible for parole in ten years.
