Man pleads guilty to Romac’s burglary
Separate cases of burglary have resulted in one man being sentenced to jail and two others imprisoned on remand. According to court reports, on Saturday night police were tipped off that there was an intruder near the Romac’s warehouse on Albert Street. The security guard was subsequently able to detain the individual who was later identified as forty-six year old Phillip Peyrefitte, a resident of Prince Street. Peyrefitte appeared in Belize City’s Magistrate Court where he pled guilty to Burglary. Magistrate Roberto Ordonez promptly sentenced Peyrefitte to spend the next five years behind bars. In the second case, a Hattieville woman was deprived of more than seven thousand dollars of household goods and is still without her property, but police believe they have captured the culprits. This morning thirty-one year old Earl Usher and Dean Tillett appeared before Magistrate Dorothy Flowers were they were arraigned for Burglary. The men pleaded not guilty but because both of the accused have been previously charged with the same offence, Flowers remanded them to prison until November twenty-second. According to Radiance Morter, on Saturday October sixth, the burglar bars of her back door were pried open and a number of appliances and computer equipment were stolen from inside.
