Afternoon fire guts home in Dangriga
Turning south, a fire in Dangriga has left a family of six homeless. The blaze started this afternoon while four of the six occupants, including a child were in the building. Luckily no one was hurt. News Five spoke to Dangriga resident, Macario Augustine who was in the area of Rivas Estate at the time of the incident.

“At about one-fifteen p.m. a house in Dangriga situated at 1625 Rivas Estate was under fire. The house was at the time occupied by Miss Cetina Flores and Mr. Charles Apolonio. According to Miss Cetina Flores, the fire started in the upper flat of the middle room and spread throughout the building. She stated that while she was sleeping, she was awakened by her common law husband indicating there was a fire within. The only thing she could save was a bag containing her personal belongings. At the time in the house was Flores, her husband, father and a child. According to firemen in Dangriga, sixty percent of the building is damaged and the contents were all lost.”
