2 deaths in P.G.; but is it foul play?

There were two unusual deaths reported in the Toledo District this weekend and one of them may have involved foul play. Just before six o’clock on Friday morning, the body of fifty-eight year old Guatemalan, Pedro Che Pacoy, was found on the side of the road near mile sixty-four on the Southern Highway. Pacoy left his home in Medina Bank Village on Thursday morning en route to his milpa. He was expected to return at around six that evening, but he never did. His son, Manuel Che, went looking for him the following morning and found him lying on the road on the outskirts of the village. Bruises were observed on the right side of the Pacoy’s abdomen and while it may be a sign of foul play, police are awaiting the results of a post mortem to make a determination.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Herman Muschamp succumbed to injuries he sustained last Tuesday. Muschamp had gone out on Monday night and he was later seen in the company of Clarence Coleman who escorted him home. Muschamp, however, did not have his keys and when his wife did not respond to his calls, he decided to climb onto the upstairs verandah.  Once he made it up, Coleman left him sitting on the rail. Later that morning, Muschamp was found on the ground, unconscious in front of his house. He was rushed to the PG Hospital with injuries to his face and head. Muschamp was later transferred to the KHMH in Belize City in critical condition and he died on Saturday.
