David Moralez gets clobbered for unwanted advances

Story PictureHis romantic advances in public may have been more than is acceptable and tonight forty-six year old David Moralez is free only because he managed to meet bail. Moralez, a yard keeper, is accused of attempting to kiss a woman and then punching her while inside Popular Supermarket on Central American Boulevard. That is the claim made by the store’s security guard, thirty-three year old Wilword Pinto. Pinto alleges that around eight-fifteen this morning, the customer, Wendy Rodriguez was shopping at the supermarket. He said that Moralez approached her and tried to kiss her and that when he intervened, Moralez punched Rodriguez in the face, pulled a machete and charged at him. But Moralez claims he is the true victim because not only did he receive a beating by Pinto, he was also charged with Harm upon Rodriguez and Aggravated Assault upon Pinto. Moralez could barely make his way on his own before Magistrate Kathleen Lewis. He was unable to see through a bruised right eye, his face had several stitches, and his clothes were covered in blood. Moralez told the court that he went to the store to talk with Rodriguez to settle an old beef. But he says she began to disrespect him and he punched her in the face. That’s when he claims the security guard attacked him and lashed him several times with a piece of stick. Magistrate Lewis requested that a medico legal form be attached to Moralez’ police report, stating how he suffered the injuries. Moralez told the court that he was never armed with a machete, nor did he attempt to kiss the woman. Magistrate Lewis granted him bail of a thousand dollars, which he met and is due back in court on September twenty-ninth.
