Street war continues with two more shootings

The ongoing war on the streets of Belize City continued this afternoon with the shooting of two more young men. The latest incident occurred on Dean Street near its junction with East Canal. Witnesses tell News Five that around four this evening the two victims, thirty-two year old Ian Reid and thirty-four year old Stephen Arnold, were sitting in a parked car near the street corner when a man on a bicycle approached and fired several shots at them. Reid suffered a gunshot wound to the neck while Arnold was shot to the left side of the abdomen. Both men are reported to be in critical condition at the K.H.M.H. and at news time were undergoing emergency surgery. Police are looking for leads on the shooter’s identity and motive.
