Hit and run victim identified but driver still unknown

A bicyclist killed in a hit and run has finally been identified, but police have yet to discover who knocked him down. The deceased is twenty-seven year old Wilmer Montoya, an employee of Kerbo Farms near Kendal in the Stann Creek District. Montoya was found lying unconscious on the Southern Highway at two a.m. on Independence Day not far from his damaged bike. He died two days later at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Police are again asking the public’s assistance to help find out exactly how Montoya met his death. Anyone with relevant information is asked to please call the nearest station.
