Dangriga constable charged for brutality
Dangriga police have charged one of their own with grievous harm following a report by the alleged victim. According to Anthony Garnett, while he was in police custody, Constable number 482 Godfrey Moreira used excessive force against him. Moreira was arraigned at the Dangriga Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was granted bail in the sum of two thousand dollars and a surety of the same amount which he met. He is to re-appear in court on Wednesday 17th October, 2007. Moreira has been interdicted from duty pending the outcome of his case.
