Child identified but mother now missing
The case involving an unidentified three-year old has taken a very strange twist. Investigators tell News Five that following our broadcast last night of the toddler’s picture, residents of Silk Grass contacted the police and positively identified him as three-year old Alejandro Gonzalez. However Alejandro’s relatives claim that they last saw the boy in the company of his mother, nineteen-year old Mirna Figueroa but the young woman has not been seen or heard from since Tuesday. Alejandro was found by a motorist walking on the side of the Southern Highway near the Kanantik junction and Mayan King just after midnight on Wednesday. The child had initially been placed in protective custody but we understand he will now be released to his family in Silk Grass. Dangriga police say they are asking the public’s assistance in locating Mirna Figueroa. If you know her whereabouts please contact the nearest station or 0-800-922-8477.
