One charged, one sought in child molestation

Separate cases involving the molestation of minors have resulted in the arrest of one man and a search for another.

On Wednesday a thirteen-year old girl told Police in Independence Village that for the past six years her father has been fondling her. According to the teenager, the most recent violation took place last Friday when she woke up to find her father touching her vagina. As a result of the report, the father in question has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault. His name is not being reported so as not to expose the victim to further trauma.

Police in Orange Walk are tonight looking for a teacher in connection with a report of sexual assault made by a sixteen year old boy. According to the teenager, around eight on Monday night he met teacher Elias Chuc and decided to hang out with him. But during their socializing, the boy says he became intoxicated and could not defend himself when Chuc drove to a feeder road, pulled down the teenager’s pants and performed oral sex on him. A passing mobile unit spotted the pair and took the youth into custody for his safety. Officers say they were forced to leave Chuc at the scene because his vehicle wouldn’t start.
