City man wounded in weekend shooting
He was shot at four times but luckily only one of the bullets caught thirty-seven year old Emory Fortune, and that struck him in his right knee. The construction worker, who remains in a stable condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, told police that around eight forty-five on Sunday night he was riding his bicycle on Central American Boulevard but as he approached the corner of Freedom Street, a person he was only able to identify as a brown complexioned man, rode up behind him and fired four shots. The shooter, who was wearing a grey T–shirt and a three quarter black pants, then quickly pedalled off down the street.
According to police they did not find any expended shells at the scene and have received no information from the victim as to a possible motive for the shooting. If you can assist police in their investigation please call the nearest police station or Crime stoppers at 0–800–922–8477.
