Shooter caught red handed in Belize City
Meanwhile cops in Belize City have arrested a teenager in connection with another shooting in the commercial capital. According to police, a mobile unit in the vicinity of St. Ignatius School heard a gunshot and then spotted a masked man riding away in a hurry. Officers set chase and watched as the suspect dropped his weapon. But the cops managed to detain the cyclist and have identified him as a sixteen year old boy. They also recovered the gun, a nine millimetre pistol loaded with seven rounds of ammunition. Investigators would later learn that nineteen year old Jamal Joseph had been standing at the corner of Amara Avenue and Basra Street when an armed assailant rode up to him and fired a shot. Joseph was hit in the buttocks and tonight remains in a stable condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. His teenaged attacker has since been charged with Attempted Murder, Dangerous Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm.
