U.D.P. CitCo manager resigns … wants to be P.U.P.
In political news, tonight it appears a senior official of the Belize City Council has tendered his resignation again and is attempting to switch loyalties to the People’s United Party. According to Dale Trujeque, effective today, he is no longer the Human Resources Manager at City Hall. But more shockingly, the key player in the United Democratic Party’s successful run in municipal elections says he wants to join the People’s United Party. This afternoon Trujeque told us he made that drastic decision because of the U.D.P.’s response when he and six other managers resigned in July.
Dale Trujeque, resigned from City Council
“There was—and this is strictly my view—every attempt to intimidate us. We were humiliated, we were interrogated. It was like we were in a courtroom. The six of the managers, senior managers who had resigned and we were told we had resigned so we noh have to talk to unu. It’s like we just the extend you this courtesy so we wah listen to weh wi want.”
“I lost a lotta respect for a lotta people and I know it’s gonna be mutual but that happens in politics. I go to work, I mean, I felt committed to the Mayor and the vision she shares for the City and so I would go to work but my heart was never in that job anymore.”

“So where do you go from here now?”
Dale Trujeque
“Marion I like politics. I’ll stay ina politics and I have to believe that if the people I work for noh want the best for the country then I will go with those who have been trying to build the country for the past forty years, which is the P.U.P, you know.”
Trujeque says while negotiations are still being worked out between himself and the P.U.P., he would like to get involved in the party’s campaign in preparation for the General Elections.
