Ex-lover charged for shooting woman’s new boyfriend
Tonight a Belize City man is recovering from gunshot wounds and his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend is accused of pulling the trigger. According to police reports, around five on Sunday morning, twenty four year old Kareem Wright, his girlfriend and a mutual friend were walking on Sarstoon Street when an ex-boyfriend approached the couple. The former lover said he wanted to have a private conversation with them but Wright says when they refused, the ex pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds. One shot hit Wright in his neck and he was rushed to the KHMH for treatment. Tonight he remains admitted to ward in serious condition. The ex-boyfriend has been identified as twenty-two year old Marvin Cruz Reyes. Reyes has been charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, dangerous harm and aggravated assault.
