U.S. terror suspect expelled from Belize pleads guilty

Story PictureA U.S. citizen expelled from Belize and turned over to the F.B.I. in December of last year has pleaded guilty to terrorism related charges. James Ujaama, who had already served a two year prison sentence in the States for setting up a terror training camp, had entered into a plea bargain agreement with U.S. authorities to help bust other radical Muslims. When he fled to Belize using a fake Mexican passport, however, he violated the agreement and could thus be tried on more serious charges. According to press reports, Ujaama, also known as James Thompson, helped raise money for terrorists in Afghanistan and maintained close contacts with radical Muslim groups in Britain. His sentencing in U.S. Federal Court is set for December twelfth.
