Policehunt Honduran machete murderer
Police in the Stann Creek District are on the lookout for a Honduran national who not only killed one man but left another to die. According to authorities, around six-thirty on Friday evening, the suspect, who remains unidentified, was in Middlesex Village when he reportedly got into an argument concerning a woman with another Honduran, forty-two year old Angel Perez.
The suspect reportedly pulled out a machete and chopped Perez. When police arrived on the scene, they found him suffering from a large wound to the head. Perez was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital but died on arrival. Less than eight hours later the suspect went on the offensive again, this time attacking another villager. According to police, forty-one year old Ervin Maroquin was making his way home on his bicycle when the murder suspect attacked him, leaving chop wounds on his left arm and chest. Maroquin was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Police say they do not know why the suspect attacked Maroquin and if the assault is related to the homicide. Police believe they know the identity of the killer and are searching for him in a nearby village.
