Is woman’s cell phone key to Hoare murder?
He was buried today following a well attended funeral service at St. John’s Cathedral … and while police have yet to identify businessman Richard Hoare’s killer, they have been pursuing some promising leads. Sources close to the investigation inform News Five that one important link is a cell phone found in Hoare’s car the night of the murder. Originally thought to belong to the victim, further investigations traced it to a young woman. The female was questioned extensively by police, who also managed to bust her on a minor marijuana charge. She pled not guilty and a court date was set. While police were not satisfied with her explanation that she forgot her phone after Hoare had given her a ride earlier that day, they hoped to grill her some more with hopefully better results. But on Saturday they received a tip that the woman was about to board a plane for the states. She was prevented from leaving and today her status is not clear. Police are not calling her a suspect but instead, a “person of interest”. The cops believe that two people were riding in Hoare’s vehicle when one of them shot him behind his right ear.
